Egarokhan is the name of a region. There are eleven villages in total in this area. This area is situated in the eastern boarder of greater Jessore district and in the western boarder of Narail district. The villages are again part of three Union Parisad. The six villages of Jamdia Union Parisad of Bagharpara P.S. are Bakri,KishmothBakri, Dogachi, Ghoranach Kamlapur & Raghurampur. The four villages of Sheikhati Union Parisad of Narail Sadar Thana are Guakhola, Hatiara, Bakali and Maliat and one village of Tularampur Union Parisad is Benahati. The people of this area are almost twenty five thousand. 95% people of this locality are educated/ literate. The number of service-holders in Government, Semi-Govt, autonomous and in Non-govt. organization is more than one thousand. A large number of people are associated with trade and business. The rest are engaged in agriculture and fish-culture.
There are five high schools including two girls’ high schools’ in this area. There is also vocational training course in one of the schools. There are five Govt. Primary schools, two non-Govt. Registered Primary school, two kindergarten schools, four missionary schools, two music Academy and one art school in this locality. Other institutions which are located in this area are two community health centers, three libraries, 11 clubs, 25 temples, 5 funeral lands, 2 memorial, 3 drama organizations and 1 information technology center.
15 kilometers melatic road and 10 kilometers clay built road run through this locality. There are 3 bazar and 1 hat in this locality. Paddy, Jute mustard-seeds, pulses and wheat are the main crops of this locality. Hundreds of tons surplus paddy are sold in the national market from this area. More than half portion of Jute of big Jute market Tularampur is supplied from this locality. A large quantity of fish is produced here. The surplus fish is supplied in the different markets of different towns. A large quantity of shalims and lobster is exported abroad from this area. Thus it plays an important role in the GDP of the country.
The geographical site of this area is very charming. In the northern side of this area is Jessore-Narail high way. The river Bhairab is flowing through the eastern and southern sides of this area. In the western side of this area is Charavita Bosundia link-road. There are corn fields canals and ditches every where in these villages. Water lilies bloom in the beach of this area and seasonal birds come there. There are natural reservoirs of fishes here. Many people of this locality live abroad.
In different festivals they meet in a get together. In the play ground of this locality different tournaments are held. Jatragan, Dramas and musical soiree are held here. The man who is the pioneer of this moderization is respectable Pandit Rash Mohon Mishro.
